Pinewood Derby Information
The Pinewood Derby weekend is upon us and all cars must be ready to race no
later than Friday night (April 1).
Cars shall be submitted for inspection on Friday night (4/1) at the
Radnor Elementary School (RES) lobby between 5 pm and 8 pm. No
entries will be accepted after that time. Our race officials will help you
get the car's weight to the maximum so be ready to "tweek" your car on site
Friday night. Cars that do not conform to the published rules will be given
until 8 pm to correct any infractions so please come early if you can.
If anyone needs a resend of this year's rules, please contact
the scoutmaster or
our Pinewood Derby Chairperson, Mr. Bernie H.
The entry fee for the Scout's car is $5. Please bring cash
or check with you on Friday night. Once the car is inspected, it will
remain at RES overnight and the Scout will not be able to handle it until
after the race is finished on Saturday morning.
The race will be held on Saturday (4/2) at RES on
Matsonford Rd., near the Radnor SEPTA station in Wayne. The racing
events begin at 9 am and should be finished no later than 1pm.
Trophies will be awarded for the first three places and each car will
receive a customized participation ribbon for entering. The winner will go
on to the District finals.
This is a very exciting event so bring the whole family. If time allows, we
will have a siblings and friends race (or last years car) for fun. Hope to
see you all at Radnor Elementary School Friday night. Good Luck!
